VICE CHAIRMANS MESSAGE
EGM STATEMENT FROM VICE CHAIRMAN
To all the members, as you are aware the chairman called for an E G M - this is because some committee members were un happy at the way the society is going.
We need to radically think about the way we want the society to run and grow.
We do need committed people to run the ship, and to do so to the best of their ability.
Please if you feel you can add to a strong team, or feel that a person who has been nominated to do a certain role is the correct person for that job please vote - not just because you like them, but because you believe they can actually do the job and will be committed.
I truly believe that a person on the committee should be able to do the job, and continue the hobby for those who share our interests.
That said choose wisely and if you feel you can also do the society justice and help out after the new committee has been formed and named, give your support, and help.
We need to change what has happened to the society for the better.
We do need the home front, the promenaders, the strollers the displays and the battlers, without all these elements it just makes us another nameless group.
We were strong once and can be again, but only if we take a new direction and every member does their part.
Craig Leonard
Vice chairman

At the Society’s meeting on Thursday 11th June, members were
advised that a significant number of committee member resignations had been

SVR ARLEY
RAF EMERGENCY OPS ROOM.
The ops room will be at Arley, just by the signal box in an open carraige over the 2 SVR weekends Please come and have a look at it
SVR PASSES
It is anticipated that passes will be received by the committee very shortly and will be either distributed at the June meeting- if received in time, or by post.
If your name was not on the original list then its likely you will not get a pass. Despite all our best efforts to get a few more SVR have applied very strict rules for free passes this year.
Its no use ringing SVR advising them you are a ww2historicalsociety member asking for passes because you will not get any. You can of course apply for reenactor reduced fee passes.
Each member who wishes to bring a de-activated weapon must bring a copy of the de-act certificate. Without this you will not be permitted to carry a weapon.
To meet event organizers, and we suspect Health and Safety legislation requirements, it is necessary for all members to supply a copy of the deactivation certificate for any weapon to be used on a society supported event, these copies will be held by the society.
